THE STUDIO

Staple Design is a Perth-based interior design studio led by Rachael Pearse.

Background

With a background in Fine Art and Interior Design, Rachael brings almost 20 years of experience across residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and architectural interiors. Her approach is warm, practical and highly considered, combining creative direction with clear documentation and an understanding of how homes are built.

As a mother, Rachael also brings a lived understanding of family life to her work- creating homes that are beautiful, practical and genuinely easy to live in.

Services

Staple Design works with clients across renovations, new builds, kitchens, bathrooms, bespoke joinery, furniture selections and styling. The studio can be engaged for a one-off consultation or a more complete design service, depending on the scale and needs of the project.

Approach

At the heart of the studio is a belief that good interiors should reflect the people who live in them. A home should feel functional, personal and layered — with natural materials, considered details, beautiful proportions and spaces that support everyday life.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Staple: a basic or principal element; something essential.

Staple Design is guided by simplicity, functionality and warmth, with a focus on interiors that are beautifully resolved without feeling over-designed.

The studio is drawn to natural materials such as timber, stone, linen, wool and aged metals; quiet palettes; crafted details; and the mix of old and new. The aim is not to create spaces that feel perfect or impersonal, but homes that feel lived in, loved and full of character.

Each project is approached with care, clarity and attention to detail, helping clients move through the design and building process with more confidence and less stress.

WORKING WITH STAPLE DESIGN

The studio works collaboratively with clients, architects, builders and trades to bring clarity to the design process. From early decisions through to final details, the aim is to make each project feel considered, cohesive and easier to navigate.
