ABOUT THE PROJECT
Staple Design was engaged to assist with the design and renovation of a kitchen and laundry within a Subiaco family home.
The brief was to create a warm, homely and family-friendly space with a traditional aesthetic, while ensuring the new kitchen felt connected to the period character of the existing home.
The design response focused on improving the function of the kitchen and laundry while creating a more considered and resolved interior. Custom cabinetry was central to the project, allowing the spaces to feel practical for everyday family life while maintaining a sense of detail, warmth and craftsmanship.
DESIGN DETAILS
The interior direction was guided by the traditional character of the home, with cabinetry, fittings, fixtures and finishes selected to feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
A soft and layered material palette helped create warmth within the kitchen, while the custom joinery brought structure, function and a refined sense of detail to the space.
Everyday practical elements were carefully integrated so the kitchen could work hard for family life without losing its sense of calm and character.
The result is a warm, elegant and highly functional kitchen renovation that feels settled within the home and sympathetic to its original period features.
