BICTON
NEW FAMILY HOME
A characterful residential project shaped by the clients’ extensive collection of antique clocks, including a large turret clock that became central to the design direction.
The home was designed to create a strong connection between the ground and first floor spaces, as well as between the interior and exterior areas. Staple Design was involved from the early conception of the project, working closely with the architect, landscape designer, builder and clients to help bring the brief to life.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The clients for this project own an extensive collection of antique clocks, including a large turret clock. This meaningful piece became a key influence on the design of the home, informing both the interior direction and the way the spaces connect with one another.
The design response focused on creating a strong sense of connection between the ground and first floor spaces, while also strengthening the relationship between the interior and exterior areas.
Staple Design was involved from the conception of the project, assisting the architect, landscape designer and builder to ensure the client brief was understood, refined and carried through to a high standard.
Working closely with the clients, Staple Design assisted with the design of the interior spaces, including interior layouts, fittings, fixtures and finish selections, and the design of custom cabinetry.
DESIGN DETAILS
The interior direction was guided by the scale, character and craftsmanship of the clients’ antique clock collection.
Custom cabinetry, fittings, fixtures and finishes were selected to create a home that felt considered, personal and connected to the clients’ story. Each design decision was approached with care, ensuring the interior spaces felt resolved while supporting the architecture and broader landscape design.
Throughout the project, Staple Design also liaised with the builder on the clients’ behalf, helping to maintain clarity, continuity and attention to detail from concept through to completion.
The result is a highly personal home that balances architectural connection, functional planning and meaningful detail.
